Victoria’s art career began as a Girl Scout in the 70′s while pursuing the honor of “First Class” scout. During that time, she took private art lessons from Mrs. Tipton, an artist in the community. She completely loved the sessions to the point that on one occasion she set the studio clock back one hour while Mrs. Tipton was out of the room.
After many discussions in her teens about art careers, her father suggested Graphic Design and Illustration,
…so that you will be able to feed yourself.”
As a result, Victoria attended Arizona State University, graduating in 1983 with a BFA in Graphic Design.
Since that time, she has had the good fortune of working as a graphic designer and/or illustrator for such companies as American Animal Hospital Association, Audio of America, CareerTrack, CH2M HILL, Denver Public Works, Financial Literacy Center, Inc., International Health Awareness Center, Living the Good News, Norwest Direct, Parker/Colorado Chamber of Commerce, Second City, SHR Communications, TCI, Society of Mining and Engineering, University of Denver/Daniels College of Business, U S WEST and Westwood College.
Currently, Victoria’s art works are without exception, playful and experimental. She finds inspiration in the natural world and enjoys imagery that explores the human role in it.
She also teaches art to primary school children, another unending source of inspiration and enjoyment.
When not painting or creating, she enjoys cooking, gardening, chocolate, outdoor sports and spending time with friends and her athletic family of boys… and Jake, the wonder dog.
